ABOUT HERMON
a hidden gem in northeast LA
Established in 1903, the neighborhood of Hermon has a strong history of community involvement. Initially established by a religious group, it secularized and joined the burgeoning city of Los Angeles in 1912. Since its very beginnings, Hermon has fostered a sense of belonging that goes hand in hand with such a close-knit and active community – with many families remaining in the area generation after generation.
The Hermon Neighborhood Council was established in 2017 to allow stakeholders to focus their attention and volunteer efforts primarily on the issues and concerns of their home community while being more inclusive of Hermon’s diverse population and community interests.
General meetings are held the second Thursday of every odd-numbered month at 7pm, and Special Board meetings are held every even-numbered month at 7pm, except in December. All meetings are being held at the newly-renovated Hermon Hall at 5800 Monterey Road. RSVP to individual meetings on our calendar page and be sure to subscribe to our HNC emails for regular updates!
